Here is what I have been thinking lately. 💭✨ So first start with the changes in the website.

I changed the URL of the website from https://miseenabyme07.blogspot.com to https://mise-en-scene101.blogspot.com. So here is the backstory. I thought that it wouldn't be much problem and only the domain name would be changed. But as I changed it, it made all the links to the old posts that I shared on social media redundant/dysfunctional. Similarly, in the browser, the old URL ran into a 404 error. 🚫💻
However, the situation came under control quickly. I made quick posts on LinkedIn (where my profile has the blog's URL) and mentioned the change on the header of the site and elsewhere. 💪
Why did I do this? 🤔 Well, when I started my blog in 2015 I named it My personal blog. One of my colleagues at COMSATS University, Islamabad (where I worked then) said, it is so generic and you are a writer, come up with a unique name. So I changed the blog title to Mise En Abyme meaning Placed in the abyss. It is an artistic technique, according to Wikipedia, “It’s the technique of placing a copy of an image within itself, often in a way that suggests an infinitely recurring sequence.” 🎨🔄

But the term ‘Placed in the Abyss’ has negative religious connotations. I changed the blog title again to Mise En Scene. But the old domain lingered. Up until now, I changed the domain/URL as well so it aligns with the blog’s Title, i.e., Mise En Scene.🎬✨
One reason I named it Mise En Scene was that this term belongs to Art and in the last century or so applied to photography and filmmaking. As I have a Master’s degree in Media Production (which had the same curriculum as filmmaking programs at other universities), I secretly think of making a movie one day. 🎥🌟
Another thing I added to the website is a translate widget. It is very helpful for people who are not very conversant with English so they can translate the website content into their mother tongue. I checked it with Arabic and it translated it pretty well. You can check in your language as well to see how accurately it translates.🈯🌏
One page I want to add is about my introduction and everything related to me. As some of you might be interested to know due to some specific reasons. I was targeted with a hate campaign in the last decade. I didn’t have any platform where I could address this issue (and I didn’t know the exact magnitude of this smear campaign). 📝🛡️
You may have noticed that the quotes in the ticker keep changing. I added this ticker myself though I don’t have much knowledge of programming except a little know-how of HTML and CSS. But as I worked in a software house before so I had a basic understanding of how websites work, backend, frontend, etc. 🔧💡💻 Rest of the credit goes to Chat GPT.
