My Experience With Web Development

I am going to share my experience with web development using WordPress.Org, WordPress.com, Wix.com, and Blogger.com. That’s not going to be a paragraph by paragraph but what salient features I liked about them randomly. I have used WordPress (both .org and .com versions), Wix, and Blogger by Google. I got a little HTML, CSS, and JS experience as well so it helped me in some aspects. This current blog is in blogger CMS. It is very simple and intuitive. However, the themes are limited as well as the storage. It has around 15 GB of storage which is enough for a small to medium-sized business. But as your traffic grows as well as the web content, you need more storage and bandwidth.  Another thing is that it is a bit dated, for example in the sharing link there is still an option for Twitter and there is no link for LinkedIn. I know they are rivals but still, they are used by billions so there should be an option. The domain name for free service has blogspot in it but you can li...

10 Awesome Posts from LinkedIn - Number 6 Is Funny

These are some of the stories that I wanted to share with you in no particular order. 1. The first story is about a Pakistani engineer who created the fastest car engine. We have an immense talent in our people. We just need the right environment and opportunities. 2. This stood out to me because I am interested in this subject. Business relationships need integrity and professionalism. If you are dealing with a more professional individual or organization, then you should buy from them (if you want, obviously). You are not obliged by religion to buy only from people of your faith. 3. This post resonated with me because the way 'hard work' is glamorized. I am not saying that you should not work hard. What I am saying is that it is portrayed as an entrepreneur you should follow a certain standard of overwork to be successful. In my opinion success is not a goal, it is a process. You should have fun along the way. 4. This is to reassure myself. I was recently m...

AIDA, Rest In Peace...!

Forget AIDA and throw it in the dustbin. It is tough for marketers who have been nurturing this model for over a century. It is being replaced by the 5As model, presented by the father of Modern Marketing, Philip Kotler. I know some people don’t have any idea what AIDA or 5As are. So here is a brief explanation of the AIDA model. Image Courtesy: https://www.activecampaign.com/ (Philip Kotler's 5As Model) AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action. It shows how a customer unaware of your product passes through different stages and changes into a buyer. First, a product grabs the consumer’s attention, then advertisers pique their interest with its cool features and benefits, which results in the desire to buy that product, which ultimately compels one to take action, i.e., purchase.  But there is a catch. It has aged. It is as old as the hills. It doesn't consider what advertisers do once the action has been taken. Should you toss them in the proverbial garbage and ...

How 5 M's of Advertising can up your Social Media Game?

It is very heartening to see that many people are producing content on social media. Whether it is Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, Twitter, or their new cousin TikTok, we see loads of content published daily. Social Media has become a powerful way of communication - mass communication. But these content producers are not aware of the concept and terminologies used in the field. Similarly, they struggle with advertising or promotion too. Both are part and parcel of the communication process. to help them, I have written a small guide below on how they can use the advertising properly. Almost all social media platforms have some promotion or advertising mechanism. This simple process will work with all of them. This plan is called 5 M's of Advertising.  These M's are Mission, Money, Message, Medium, and Measurement.   Mission:  It is where you decide your objectives. What do you want to achieve through advertising? The 3 basic reasons are to inform, persuade, and remin...

Do you know these facts about memes?

Millions of apps exist in the world. The number is increasing exponentially. The real challenge for the developers is to reach the audience. One may have the most fantastic app in the world, but if the users don’t know about it then it is like a white elephant! It costs so much but it is of no use.  Not everyone can afford millions of dollars to market their apps. Marketers are now integrating internet memes for app promotion in particular and promotion in general. Let me tell you a bit about internet memes.   In 1976 a British evolutionary biologist and author, Richard Dawkins in his book “The Selfish Gene” presented the idea of Memes . Analogous to a gene, a meme is an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person across cultures. He likened the spread of ideas from culture to culture similar to the genes found in living beings. As genes can move among offspring, Memes can also mutate, change, and eventually die.  Internet Memes are a subset of memes....
